The Division of Medical Informatics in Collaboration with the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley), USA and funded through the Minority Health & Health Disparities International Research Training (MHIRT) initiative at the National Institutes of Health, is offering opportunities for qualified students from UC Berkeley to undertake the Minority Health/Global Health Disparities Research Fellowship as a international summer research program.

The program provides for training in infectious disease research, with a focus on diseases that disproportionately affect people in developing countries.  It also aims to increase diversity in biomedical and behavioural science research and support research training for students who will contribute to the elimination of health disparities that exist among disadvantaged populations in the U.S. and in developing countries.

The duration of this fellowship is 8 to 10 weeks.  The Program was introduced in SJRI in June 2015, and till now 2 students from UC Berkeley have come to do their Fellowship at SJRI.
