St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences (SJNAHS) is a self-financing private Institution. It was established, and is managed by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (C.B.C.I. http://www.cbci.in/) through the CBCI Society for Medical Education (a Registered Charitable Trust with it's office in Bengaluru) established for the purpose in 1961.
The CBCI represents the Catholic Church in India and is a permanent association of all its Bishops. It was constituted in September 1944 to look in to all matters concerning the interests of the Catholic Church in India.
The General Body of the CBCI Society for Medical Education consists of the CBCI Standing Committee and the Governing Board. General Body is presided over by the President CBCI.
The Governing Board consists of elected members of the General Body and the Executives of the Academy, it formulates policies and oversees the functioning of SJNAHS.
